- We have lost our camera! It’s only now I can mention it without being too affected. Well, somebody stole it from Nonoy’s bag. So much for what Claudine’s line in the movie Dubai that goes something like – “pwede mong iwan ang bag mo at walang kukuha nyan…hahanapin ka pa nga para ibalik…” Duh!
- It’s Holy Week! I miss the Palm Sunday mass and procession.
- I will miss the Maundy Thursday activities especially the “washing of the feet” done in complete theatrecal drama in church (plus checking out who’s the year’s 12 apostles!).
- I will miss Good Friday and everything about it!
- I miss seeing Mary Magdalene. She’s been one of my favorites even before she’s been made controversial by the Da Vinci Code…I’m not actually affected by that controversy. Come to think of it, I don’t actually give much thought about that issue at all!
- When I was a kid, I always go in procession following Mary Magdalene’s karo that my Lolo Noming (God bless his soul!) would always serve as manugtulod – actually, it’s more of manugbutong(?) as in, pull.
- I pray that one day I will be given the opportunity to have our own karo. Of course, it’s going to be a Mary Magdalene. (:
- I will miss the radio dramas on Bombo!
- I will miss just being at home with the fam having our usual coffee and tinanok na saging combo while watching Pagtaltal on TV.
- By the way, I was born on a Holy Wednesday.
It’s going to be a long weekend as there is also a holiday here in UAE starting tomorrow and hopefully, I’ll be able to spend it meaningfully.
May I be able to reflect this Lenten Season on my own “30 pieces of silver” and start clean. This I pray…
