A Treasure Hunt, My UMI Pearls…and HAIRSPRAY!

Everything that has happened for the past three days still hasn’t actually sunk in. It still feels like a dream…actually, felt more like a joke but a JOKE that actually costs 650 Dirhams (now convert that to Pesos!)! Hehe…

It was last Sunday afternoon, August 28 when I got a call from Ms. Elizabeth of Cinestar Cinema informing me that I have won First Prize for Week 8 of their Treasure Hunt Promo. Geez…can’t believe it. It’s been a habit of mine joining promos and answering this and that questionnaires especially now with the net just at the tip my fingers but to actually won! Yippeee! But I didn’t raise my hope that high…I’m happy to win and just felt glad…so glad…that my “weekly-willpower-to-solve-each-puzzle-and-quizzes-paid-off”.

I went to Cinestars’ Office last Tuesday not only to get my prize but more actually to grab the chance to watch a premier (Hairspray Movie) for FREE! And I was just surprise to learn that my prize was actually a pearl necklace from UMI Pearls worth AED650! And all along I was expecting to get a toy, a movie shirt or free movie tickets, perhaps?

GOD really gives the greatest surprises in life especially when you least expect it.

A Grand Draw happened also that night for us who has joined in the Promo…nope, didn’t get the Grand Prize but it didn’t matter. I got more than what I wanted - a prized necklace, a free movie (plus free chocolates!) and quality time with Tatay!
Now, let’s sing to that –
“Good morning, Baltimore….”

I want not approve on it. I over nice post. Especially the title-deed attracted me to review the intact story.

My friend and I were recently talking about the ubiquitousness of technology in our daily lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of copying our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could see in my lifetime.
